Getting to Meedhoo

Fly to Gan International Airport (GAQ) on Gan Island — the southernmost airport in the Maldives. Domestic flights connect from Velana International Airport (Malé). From Gan, Meedhoo is a short 15 minutes Speedboat ride.

Travel Tips

Pack light, breathable clothing, reef-safe sunscreen, and modest attire for residential areas and mosques. Bring a reusable water bottle, insect repellent for wetland walks, and comfortable shoes for trails. Currency is Maldivian Rufiyaa (MVR); cards may be limited — carry some cash. Dhivehi and English are widely used; the Addu dialect is spoken locally. Mobile data and Wi-Fi are available at most guesthouses.
